Volunteer: Friends and Family Commodity Phone CallsWe deliver groceries to our clients on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, and we need volunteers to help us make reminder phone calls to our Seniors. You will be provided with 6-10 names, phone numbers and a "script" for the calls. Calls can be made at your convenience but must be completed by the Monday before commodity delivery. Those fluent in Spanish would receive the Spanish speaking names and numbers. Once you sign up for this position the Program Manager will reach out to you with times and days that seniors need rides. As a volunteer, you will Transport clients for nonemergency medical appointments in Grapevine or Southlake Routine doctor visits Physical Therapy appointments Routine dentistry appointments *Transport clients up to 7 miles for all other requests Essential Errands Shopping Salon Appointments Community activitiesVolunteers pick up at the curb and drop off at the curb Volunteers accompany clients inside during shopping trips (typically 1 hour) Volunteers do not accompany clients into medical or dental appointments Typically, a round trip for a client's medical or dental appointment takes approximately 1hour Medical and dental appointments typically require 2 drivers, one to drop off and one to pick up if a round-trip driver is not available.This is a “curb to curb” service Program: Children, Seniors, & Families Our Friends and Family clients are elderly and disabled adults that can no longer drive.
